How often is pickup, and what cart do I get?
Residential trash is collected once per week. Thompson’s Trash provides 96-gallon carts, which hold approximately 6-8 bags depending on bag size. Extra bags outside the cart are $3 per bag. For curbside pickup, place your cart with its wheels against the curb.
How does backdoor pickup work?
We collect your cart from an agreed location on your property and return it after pickup. Our vehicle needs room to turn around. Contact Shawn to confirm a workable location and access before starting backdoor service.
What should not go in my trash?
Do not include explosives, paint, batteries, or items containing batteries. This is not a complete list of every possible restriction. Call or text before setting out an item you’re unsure about. For bulk items and junk removal, tell us what you need removed so we can confirm acceptance and provide a quote.
Do you offer recycling pickup?
Thompson’s Trash does not offer recycling collection.
What happens during holidays or bad weather?
Holiday schedule changes depend on disposal-facility closures. Weather-related changes depend on conditions. Call or text Shawn to confirm any changes affecting your pickup.
How do pricing, billing, and cancellation work?
Contact Shawn for pricing at your address. Collection is weekly, with monthly or quarterly billing. There is a $10 cart delivery fee and a $40 cancellation/cart-refurbishment fee. There is no fixed long-term service contract. Call Shawn to arrange cancellation and confirm any billing questions.
What should I do about a missed pickup?
Call or text Shawn with your service address. Missed pickups are generally addressed that evening or the following morning, but timing depends on the situation. Shawn will confirm the next steps with you.
